James & Gillian’s Wedding Day Blog

1.When was your wedding?
06/07/2019

2. What was the best part of your wedding day?  If you could go back in time and do it again what would you do the same and what would you do differently?
Best part was having all our friends and family in the one room. And the lip sync idea with bridal party. Pictures and videos I will cherish forever. I would do it all the same.

3. What services did you hire for your wedding? What were the best and why?
I used all local people. My hairdresser was Sabrina Ennis. She is my hairdresser for over 20 years. She done my bridesmaids and my best friend Rebekah Page done my hair.

Make up by Debbie Ennis.
Alan Brereton for church music.
Suits – Mardec hire in Naas.

The Seducers Wedding band! Cannot wait to go see them again.

4. Describe and rate your hotel and wedding planners.
Hotel in Celbridge Manor 10/10 perfect food and service and Caroline helped with everything along the way.

5. Describe your photographer and favorite photo from the wedding day.
Photographer was David McNeill. He really was exceptional. He got every shot I could have imagined. Group shot/ the prep before and after the wedding. I love all the flowers he got in our pictures. And my favorite is one where he captures us swinging our daughter. He was like a wedding planner as he told everyone what to do in the church. He told the band when to start the music as we walked up the aisle. He told everyone where to stand and really made it stress free for us.

6.Describe your wedding videographer

The best thing about our videographer Ger is we didn’t even know he was filming. At the start and end we had to say a few words but other than that he got all natural footage which I love as I hate the posing. He was there first thing in the morning at both the bride and grooms
House which was a good 20 minute drive. Most couples only get the brides morning but I really appreciate having both on our video and some of the words the groom said is used during the video. He also took some very valuable pictures for us after the photographer left at 6. He was still there after 10 taking natural pictures when everyone had some dinner and wine and were more relaxed.

He had a lip sync video which I love so much. It was so much fun to do with our bridal party. It’s the only thing I look back on and laugh at. He also got the bride and groom at the end to have a casual chat about how there day went. Very relaxed and so happy with the quality of the video.

7. Can you pass on any tips for other couples getting married?
It’s only as expensive as you want it to be. Don’t get caught up in the whole spend spend spend.

9. Did you go on honeymoon?
We just bought a house so we hope to go on honeymoon this year but we had a few days in Donegal.
