Wedding planning is a pretty huge project to start together and lots of couples feel moments of stress at different points. It’s really important to find moments to bond and enjoy something romantic together in this journey. We’ve created a list of really creative and romantic ways that you can bond before the wedding and we guarantee you haven’t heard these before.

Romantic Ways to Bond Before the Wedding

Forge your own wedding rings

Is there anything more romantic than spending time forging your own wedding rings together? In this experience of a lifetime, sit down with your partner in a 2.5 hour workshop with The Creative Collective. Sip on complimentary prosecco while their experts guide you through the process, bringing your love to life in the symbol of a ring. You can choose from a variety of beautiful finishes and textures in sterling silver, 9ct/18ct yellow, rose and white gold.

Practice your first dance together

Not all wedding planning tasks are admin-related. Carve out some time to practice your first dance together and really focus on enjoying the experience and intimacy.

Whether you are looking to learn the Foxtrot, Waltz, Jive or Quickstep, private lessons with Michelle Alonzi will get you there! Michelle will help choreograph the dance for you, with your first dance song in mind. This is perfect for even those who have never danced before.

Here are some expert tips for you from Ksenia and Marcin of Viva School of Dance, to help get you started:

Attend a pre-marriage course together

I love to remind couples that the entire purpose behind your wedding is to celebrate your marriage. The pre-marriage course by Avalon Relationship Consultants is a fabulous way to invest into your marriage and spend quality time together in the process.

This course is entirely online and is incredibly fun, practical and easy to do. You will be given opportunities to discuss topics you might not have addressed yet, such as Parenting, Finance and Fertility. Couples who have taken part in this course say that they gained a deeper understanding of each other’s views on a variety of topics. You’ll learn how to create more romance in the relationship and don’t be surprised if you leave the course with a greater sense of commitment.

Create a handmade art sculpture

Capture a moment in time with a gorgeous handmade piece of art with Unique Wedding Memory. Pop into their Co. Kerry studio and in just 20 minutes, they will make a mold of your hand and craft a one of a kind piece of art. This is a wonderful bonding experience and you’ll have something to display in your home too!

Book an engagement shoot with your photographer

There are plenty of reasons to have an engagement shoot! You’ll become familiar with being in front of the camera before your wedding day. Plus, you’ll have lovely photos to use in your wedding stationery or on your website. And it’s just plain fun! Select your dream wedding photographer (you can do that here), pick a beautiful location and grab some fun props.

Here’s a photo from my engagement shoot in 2014. My husband and I were living in Cape Town, South Africa, so we picked a beautiful forest and we were sure to include bunting, vintage books and cups of tea. It was really cute and romantic. We had lots of fun! Photo cred: Yeah Yeah Photography (South Africa).
